How do you take the oil pump off of 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE.

Drop the oil pan, it's bolted to the bottom of the engine.

There's a chain on there how do I remove the chain to get to the oil pump?

Remove the balance shaft chain cover.
Remove the balance shaft chain tensioner assembly.
Remove the oil pump cover.
Remove the oil pump.
Installation Procedure

Install the oil pump

Install the oil pump cover to the balance shaft housing.
Tighten the bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) .
Install the balance shaft chain tensioner. Important: You must use a brass feeler gauge in order to obtain correct measurements. A steel gauge will not conform to the guide and will not provide correct measurements.
