1999 Pontiac Grand Am maybe electical?

I just baught a this car and been having a couple of problems but my main one right now is the guage lights have been coming on intermitantly and when restarted they would go away then the gas guage started to read full then go completely empty and the light would go on and then beep at me then register all the way full again and it would do this numberous times the cruise control would not engauge it would not downshift properly and the ETS was disenguaged and would not come back on when the button was pushed please help i've been told a couple of things but do not have the cash to try all PLEASE HELP!

I would start by having the body control module (BCM) tested. It is responsible for all that you mentioned.

How would I go about testing the BCM myself? The car does not even start now and I need to drive it to phoenix for my week off

You need special test equipment.
