1997 Pontiac Grand Am car starts then stalls

I just replaced the tensioner on my 1997 grand am and had to take out the alternator to do so. Now the car starts then dies immediately. I think it is the anti-theft system, but not sure. Any ideas will help

Most likely it is
turn key on and check if security light on and flashing and if so try to start then leave key in the on position for about 10 min until security light stop flashing then you should be able to start the car
