I have a 96 pontiac grandam, the ignition broke and I need to replace the entire colum, is there a way to bypass the wires so that I can just make it push button or toggle switch to get the car to start and run, until I am able to affored to replace the whole unit? And if so I dont want to cross wire anything so how and what would be the correct method to do this. Thanks carl

Don't even think about cutting wires and adding toggle switches. You are asking for trouble. Just because your ignition broke doesn' tmean you have to replace the column. Go to a junk yard and get one that matches if you want to replace it.
