1996 Pontiac Grand Am stalling at low speed or at stop sign

Im not to sure what is wrong but the car stalls when I come to a stop or dont give it gas in gear. It surges at that time the lights and gages go crazy. But driving it it runs fine

Only dies at idle? Try cleaning the Idle Air Control Motor. Also clean out around the butterfly in the throttle bore with carb cleaner and a rag. This should help stabilize the idle. Also check for vacuum leaks. Maybe a tune up wouldnt hurt, depending on when it was done last
