I removed the power steering pressure hose and purchased a replacement that I have verified is the correct hose and matches exactly. Problem is that I cannot get the line at the firewall to tighten all the way. With only perhaps 2 or 3 full turns left it seems to bind up and I don't want to force it. I have removed it and checked that it is not stripped and started again. Should I just use the wrench (open end 3/4") and tighten it no matter how it feels? Or is there a secret or special tool to help with this?

No it should not be hard! In fact if you overtighten it, you can split the steering gear at the hole. Be careful. If you need to, find a nut that size and run it onto the line. If there is a blue or red locktite compound on the threads, you should be able to just safely tighten it up. The only special tool for lines are flare nut wrenches, but on a 3/4 new line, you dont need it.
