1)When I accelerate fast it makes a strange wwaaa noise.
2)after driving for a bit if I have it in D when I come to a stop coming off the freeway it dies, fires right back up but as soon as I put it in any gear again it dies. To keep it from dieing I drive around city in 2, if I go on freeway I put it in D, and when I come to a stop off an exit I put it back into 2 when I have slowed to about 30-40mph. That has kept it from dieing when coming to a stop. I almost want to say it dies if I slow down too fast but I'm not 100% on that. Now, again if I come off the freeway and come to a stop in D it dies, so I start it up put it in N and when the light turns green I rev it up and throw it into 2 and it clunks and slower than it should it starts going, with that strange sound from accelerating fast. I thought it might have been the EGR valve needing to be cleaned up or replaced but I did some research and the 16v Qaud4 DOHC 2.3L engine does not have an EGR. Any thoughts or previous experience with a similar problem would be appreciated.

Try disconnecting the transmission comverter clutch solenoid and see what happens-also check the throttle position sensor

Ended up being the TCC solenoid sticking when its hot keeping the transmission locked up causing it to stall when coming off the freeway or over 45mph, thanks.
