1995 Pontiac Grand Am Belt & Tensioner

1995 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl

I recently replaced my tensioner and belt and when I went to put the belt on the tensioner isnt springing back like it should. The belt is also hitting off the lower motor mount what is the problem? Any suggestions?

What size engine? 4.0L, 5.7L, 3.8L or 4.3L?

Okay, first lets just make sure you have the correct belt routing..

If this is OK, try adjusting the belt.
