Electrical problem 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 155000 miles

How do I remove the turn signal flasher? It appears to be located behind the fuse panel on the left end of the dash. I haven't figured out how to get to it. I've tried removing the fuse panel itself - won't budge. I've tried removing the lower dash panel (under the steering wheel) and the aluminum panel underneath that - still can't get to it.

It is the GT. I'm not sure what it looks like because I can't even see it. I can hear it, and I can feel the "clicking" coming from behind the fuse panel on the left end of the dash. Fuse panel is accessed while the driver's door is open. Engine is the 3.1 liter V6.

Can anybody give me any ideas?

Hello,

The turn signal flasher on this car is integrated into the hazard switch, Here are some diagrams (below) so you can get the problem fixed. You need to remove the center panel of the dash where the switch is mounted and change it from the backside.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken

The Turn Signal Flasher is located on the LH side of Instrument Panel, right of steering column.

IMPORTANT: The OEM service manual provides conflicting information regarding Turn Signal Flasher Location, and has issued TSB No. 43-83-17 with a revised location. You must check all locations provided.

my turn signals are working intermittently. When the signals are working, I get the clicking sound of the signals, out of rhythm, even though the signal is not activated. I believe the flasher needs to be replaced.

Have you heard of this before on this vehicle? Also, where is the flasher located and how easy is it to replace?

The flasher is built into the hazards switch on these cars. To get at it, remove the bezel around the radio, remove the 3 screws holding in the hazard switch from behind and unplug.
