The car is draining coolant out of what looks like an overflow valve on the front of the firewall. It is located next to the heater hose. The coolant is low as a result of this "draining." Why is the coolant running out from this valve like this?

There is an overflow coming from coolant recovery tank.

There are two hoses to heater core, make sure the hoses are tight.

If coolant is coming out coolant recovery tank, first change radiator cap.
