1994 Pontiac Grand Am car shaking

When you start the car it has a knocking and shaking, alot of exaust, and when we put antifreeze it dissapeares, what could that be? Do I have a blown motor or a cracked block?

Sounds like my ex girlfriends old pontiac and many others. Those head bolts on those quad 4s are very very tight and the heads are aluminum and the block cast iron. And they have a tendency to move when heated as they expand at different rates.

This causes them to move on eachother and wear out the headgasket or warp away. I woudl recommend checking the cylinder compression asap and getting back to me.
