OK so I went on a long trip and my car started to act up. When you are driveing and not in drive but 1, 2, or 3 its drives just fine but when it drops down in drive and you give it more gas its starts to jump in the front and has NO power at all. I all so have over heating problems and idling problems were it likes to start to die and then it revs WAY up and back down. On my way back home my hermonic balance went out and I had to replace that and it still has the same problems as before. All bran new spark plugs wires and packs. On time when I drove it I came up to a stop sign and its started nocking like the over head cam went out and wouldent stay runing at all unless I forced gas to it. Got it home and it sat for 3 hours came out to look at it started it and there was no noise or problem but wat I had befor.

I would start by removing ignition module and have it tested, next fuel pressure with mechanical gauge.

Ignition module is under coil pack.

Not a good idea to put larger injectors in car, same as putting a larger carb on an unmodified engine, it will run rich, although the ECM can compensate to some degree.

So with the ponti 33 grand am wat would be better turbo or supercharge. Or in genral, and wat other parts would be a good idea to upgrade. If I was to install one of them and wat to look out for. CHB joints and hermonic balance is a must im guessing but wat other parts maybe a good idea to upgrade. Is this bad on a atomatic transmision and wat are the fare deal price brands to go with I know this ant a repair question but this car has alot of parts to be replace. I fig if I do one of these maybe some of the parts I have to replace would go along with this so im not wasting money upgrading NEW parts I just put it. Makes sense right lol thanks Ben

It is best to find a kit for turbo/supercharger upgrade, in any case the PCM MUST be reprogrammed to compensate for boost.

Um I dont think that could be the case when this thing puts all the power it can out. If it was the converter then I would have decrease in power through all gears. The only gear is drive. Another thing I was told to check would be the front suspension wat in that area could all so make the front of the car jump when giveing the car gas in drive only. Like I said befor the other gears drive smooth but final drive. Maybe this problem has nothing to do with the motor its self im not sure. It dose and dosent feel like a front CB joint or atleast it dosent feel like any one iv ever had that was bad. Im all so starting to find it had to start every time I do it seems worse it dose has a new fuel filter on it but was installed befor this problem 500 miles or more. New plugs and wires at about the same time 500 600 miles or more.

I thought you said it had no power at all, but I guess you meant in drive?

Then you have a trans problem, I would check the linkage first.

Could it have any thing to do with the timeing? I just cant see it being the transmision being the problem. Dosent cars that use ignition modul's use a vacum of some sort for time. Has dose that work and how would I check that if that could be the problem.

Thanks for all the help got my car fixet when I came in to some cash it was two of the quail pack and the ignition mod like you said it might be. But now I have a light ticking noise in the middle of the motor between the fuel injectors. Valves maybe? Or something to do with the over head came maybe not sure just sounds like a screw driver taping against the motor vary light but loud.

Possible lifter, but you would need to check oil pressure with mechanical gauge.
