We have a 2007 G6 it only has 29,00 miles. We took it into the shop for a check engine light and other issues not related to performance. The mechanic called back and said we had severe carbon build up and needed a decarb done. The price was about $150. Is this normal on such a low mileage vehicle or is there another problem causing this?

sometimes you can get carbon build up on the throttle blade, which could cause performance and idle problems, this is mostly done as prevenative maintance.I know 29,000 is low miles but it depends on stop and go traffic and driving habits, this can cause carbon build up.what was the code?post back with any other questions.
