2006 Pontiac G6 help

I was told to have my computer scan at an auto store and they told me that they can only check my computer if my check engine light is on. Do I have to take it to a dealer to get it checked. How much does that cost. Do I have to send money for each question I have to get a reply. Ive already donated once on my previous related question?

Hi:
No you don't have to send money each time. If the check engine light isn't on, they feel there will be no codes. However, there still can be codes. I would call them (rather than drive) and ask if they would check it even though the light isn't on. Tell them you feel there may be a code saved in the computer.

Also, I and not familiar with your problem. Could you explain it to me?
