I washed my engine yesterday with a water pressure gun and when I tried to turn it on it wouldnt so I waited a couple of hours tried again and turned on but now my check engine light turned on. Why did this happened? I took it to the mechanic so the code can be erased but in the process the mechanics scanner froze and he said he couldnt do anything about what can I do?

Are you saying it cranks good but won't start or it won't even crank? You may need to use a blow-dryer on under hood electrical connectors, take connectors loose, see if they are wet, inside? Any blown fuses? You should be able to check for mil codes yourself, if you have the 12 pin datalink connector. Place a jumper wire between terminals A & B at the datalink connector, turn the key just till the dash lites come on, no further. The mil starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for 2 digit codes.
