1992 Pontiac Firebird car died

Engine Performance problem
1992 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

was pulling into apartments. Turning the corner my car started jumping, or hesitating. As I was fulling turned the car died and I rolled up to my home. Heard a loud whining noise. Tried starting the car again. The car turns over fine but then after a few seconds dies. If I try pumping the gas peddle it acts like it wants to keep going but when I stop it dies. Fuel pump? Fuel Filter? I know it needs a tune up but would that cause this?

Check the fuel pressure if its within specs if okay -clean out the idle air control valve and EGR and PCV valves and test throttle position and manifold absolute pressure sensors.
