I went out one morning and my steering wheel was very hard to turn. I drove it for a day and it seemed to get a little worse. Now It is so tight that it almost feels stuck. When parked I can hear a clank on my right front end when I turn right. The car does not have power steering and speed does not affect the problem. I took a brief look at the front suspension and everything seems to be ok, old, but ok. Oh, and for approx 2wks before the problem my steering wheel seemed jiggly. I don't know if this is related or not. Thanks

Hi there,

I recommend that you get your steering system inspected by a provisional mechanic. You may have a seized steering joint that may snap at any time, or there is a problem with your steering box. Get this inspected ASAP before you experience a steering failure.

Thanks for the help. I wanted to let anyone else who has this problem know that it was my steering rack that went bad.
