Hi

2000 bonneville pontiac 68 k

I was all set to go to change my oil, I have changed it twice before with the help of a mechiaic, now im doing it alone I know exactly how to change the oil and everything and had everything ready expect I forget how to jack up the car, ( I know it sounds lame but I havent changed my oil myself since last summer and I want to do it myself again to save money ) I read the car book and it doesnt seem to help, when jacking up the car to change the oil, should I jack it on the jack point from the side near the wheel either the right or left or is there a way to jack it up from the center so the oil pan can be as level as possible. I know its a uni body and I dont wanna screw anything up, or my car is junk, and I want to get this done this weekend so a responce asap would be amazing!

so let me know, PLEASE

jack it from the center and were? Or the side?

thanks!

Your car has a "cradle" or basically a steel square that holds the engine and trans. You can jack the car up by the steel cradle, front and center. Safest to lift them straight so the car doesnt try and fall of the jack. ALWAYS use jack-stands when under a vehicle, even if you are only going to be under there for a second.
