Every 3000 miles the engine warning light comes on showing check oil level. It seems the car burns a quart every 3,000 miles. I do not see any leaks, drips on the ground and it does not smoke.

What can cause the car to burn a quart of oil every 3K miles?

Thx.

Might try replacing PCV valve if crankcase is not ventalated well oil can collect moisture and burn off.
