Engine Mechanical problem
2005 Pontiac Bonneville 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 70000 miles

Every 3000 miles the engine warning light comes on showing check oil level. It seems the car burns a quart every 3,000 miles. I do not see any leaks, drips on the ground and it does not smoke.

What can cause the car to burn a quart of oil every 3K miles?

How often do you change oil and filter?

Every 3000 to 4000 miles.

Might try replacing PCV valve if crankcase is not ventalated well oil can collect moisture and burn off.
