Brakes problem
1992 Pontiac Bonneville 6 cyl 16444 miles

one day I was backing out of a parking spot and I suddenly hear a huge CRUNCH. Then I went to put on the brakes and I had to floor the brake pad to stop it. They still worked so I drove home. I have to press really hard to stop the car so I drove far away from every1. We put brake fluid in it thinking that I didnt have any and it started to leak out. Im not sure whats wrong with it and I dont have alot of money, im in college and have a part time job. So I hope this isnt an expensive job. Any ideas on pricing if its one or a cobination of sorts:
Lines-?
master cylinder-?
caliper piston (wheel cylinder)-?

my dad looked at were it was leaking and he said "it looks like a round tube with a special connection"

You need to put fluid in it and have someone lightly press on the pedal. You then need to look for where fluid is coming from to identify the source. Be aware the master cylinder may be now damaged from driving it with the pedal going the the floor.

This may be a hundred or 800 dollar repair. Depends on what it is and what happens while repairing.

My dad said it looked like a round tube and it had a "special" connection to it. He works on cars but only knows the basics like oil powersteering and electric.
