The light in my gear shift has gone out. Can this bulb be accessed and replaced?

Your shifter has a replaceable bulb. It is a 194 bulb.
Remove the horseshoe clip on the back of the shift know with a small screwdriver, remove the two screws that hold the shifter plate and you should have access to the light.
