Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Pontiac Aztek 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

Engine Light is on, I topped up the oil and the coolant - the light is still on. I put the gas peddle all the way down to the floor and the engine revved over & over. When I shut the truck off it kept running even when I removed the key. I am very worried because my job is a 45 minute drive and I am not sure if I should drive the truck to work!

It sounds like a couple problems. First, you need to have the computer scanned to determine why the check engine light is on. Most parts stores will do it for free.

As far as the engine running with the key out, that has to be related to the ignition switch.

Have the computer scanned and let me know what you find.
