Will an air filter cover that will not close properly cause the computer to throw the PO174 code?

Hi,

Is the leak before or after the MAF? Also, the code deals with a lean fuel mixture on bank 2 of the engine. By any chance, is there an exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold? Also, has the vehicle been difficult to start?

If you look at the pic below, it shows that an engine vacuum leak can cause this, but it's odd that it would only affect one side of the engine. That is why I asked about the exhaust leak. Also, is this the only code that is present and how is the engine running otherwise?

I suspect you are looking for either a vacuum leak or low fuel pressure. By chance, do you have a live data scan tool? If you do, could you let me know what the fuel trims are at operating temp at an idle?

Here is a link that explains how to locate and repair a vacuum leak. I don't know if you need it, but I thought it might be helpful. Also, the second link explains how to check fuel pressure. You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend one to you.

Keep in mind, since it is specific to one side of the engine, you may have a fuel injector issue as well.
