Oil indicator light

I recently changed oil in a 1994 plymouth voyager se 3.3 6 cylinder, and before I changed the oil the oil indicator light wasn't on or to my knowledge never has been on but just after I changed the oil, the indicator light came on and hasn't went off, what has caused this to happen?

Lack of oil pressure. Did you use the correct filter?

TY for responding, a little further investigating and found out that the filter didn't have a seal on it.
