Electrical problem
2000 Plymouth Voyager 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

As of late, my speedometer sometimes doesn't work.
Usually happens when it is cold. The speedometer will not register at all, the tripodometer still works during those times. Turning the ignition off and then starting the vehicle again usually gets the speedometer working again.

Hi there, thank you for the donation,
As you say in your question, the trip meter works all the time, this is indicating that the speed sensor is still sending a signal, I would say the problem is in the speedo head it self, there are no simple in car tests to prove this, to do so the cluster will have to go to an instrument fitter for testing.

The way it was acting, I was thinking that there may be a relay in the circuit -- intermittant -- clears up when cycled --
Is there an electronic schematic for the speedo head anywhere to be found?
