Hi,
2000 voyager with 3.0 and 165000 on it, started to to lose coolant found it had some steam comming from passenger side near pump and front near condensor it has a new radiator that was put in a year ago. As of lately the steam seems to be comming from the water pump location and am not getting heat inside, also the hose seemed to have gotten hard when it over heated isd this due to poor circulation and is it the water pump. Also how can I tell if it did not cause a head gasget to go during the over heating? How can I tell if it needs a new timng belt?

Hi:
There is a seep hole at the bottom of the water pum that they will leak from when the bearing /seal go bad. Check there for that and replace it if there is a leak.

Next, when the engine is hot, it is normal for the hoses to get hot. The system is under pressure.

As far as no heat, are you sure the cooling system is full?

Finally, I recommend replacing the thermostat when you do the waterpump and any hoses that are in need of replacement.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Joe
