My Plymouth GrandVoyager gas tank began to leak from the rear after running over some debris on an busy interstate highway. The insurance company and the dealer decided to replace it with a used plastic gas tank. Is it safe to use a plastic gas tank, I was told that all cars uses plastic gas tanks. Is this ture?

Yes that is correct. The older tanks were made of steel which were very heavy, with todays fuel economy crisis the auto industry began using plastic fuel tanks which are much lighter and safer since the plastic can bend and flex instead of just crack open in an accident.
