I recieved this van for doing some side work. Well it was fine when I got it but One week later. I lost all my dash insterments. No fuse is blowed, inside or under the hood. Someone told me that it could be the computer not communicating. I don't know if this is true or not. I was wondering if is is true or if I did have a cumputer problem wouldn't that make the rest of the van run bad. It runs perfect. Other then the check engine light on. But that was on when I got it and that is the EGR valve. I'm going to take that off and see if cleaning it will solve that. But the van does run really good. So that is why i'm questioning the computer going bad. Thank you if you can help me with this.

No I don't believe it will cause your van to run bad. But im sure your like me, you want everything on your vehicle to work, whether it was "Free or not". So if you do want to fix the problem I would start with the dimmer switch (test it for continuity). If thats not the problem then I believe that your body control module may have something to do with it and that is located behind the middle pillar. It could have a connection problem with one of the wires. I had this problem with mine, one of the wires was corroded. I just pulled it out and scraped it then pushed it back in problem was solved
