what could cause it from getiing any sparks from the distributor

There are 101 reasons you may not be getting a spark. Crank sensor/coil etc. Etc even the immoboliser cuts the spark. Is your MIL on? If you have a light flashing/constantly on, on the dash display then you have a fault code showing. You willl have to have the PCM read to get the code which will tell you where the fault lies?
