1997 Plymouth Voyager window drivers side

My wife was driving along when she heard a sudden thud and the glass fell down into the door, You can hear the motor running when the switch is on but it appears to be binding with no attempt to raise the widow at all I haven't taken the panel off because I dont quite know how to do it and I didnt want to tear anything else up, can anyone give me advice on this problem, thanks in advance joe

Obviously, someone will have to open up the door panel and either reattach the glass to the regulator mechanism that connects it to the motor or replace the regulator if that's broken.

I haven't worked on this car's door, but generally to get a door panel off, you have to unscrew the armrest and any exposed screws, then pop nylon fasteners out of their holes in the metal part of the door (there's an angled pry tool for this, or a screwdriver will work if you're careful not to mar the door edge). Other obstacles can include the door handle and lock, manual window crank, wiring to electric windows and door locks, manual side mirror adjuster, and rivets holding regulator and motor to the door frame that may have to be drilled/chiseled out. In other words, it's possible to do it yourself, with time, patience and a few, not too out-of-the-ordinary, tools.
