Hello Ken, Bob, and the 2carpros team,
I've been having problems with the vehicle not starting. I twist and turn the steering wheel for about 5 minutes then it starts, but whenever I shut off the vehicle I have to do the same thing again, also when I shut the vehicle off the tail lights stay on. Last but not least, my emergency brakes are not catching on. I thank you in advance for your professionalism towards telling me what's causing these problems.

It sounds like three different problems. First, the ignition switch. I would recommend having the switch itself checked. It sounds like there is a problem with the switch itself.

As far as the tail lights, is it the brake lights, signals, parking lights?

Finally, the parking brake sounds like it just needs adjusted. First, make sure the rear brakes are properly adjusted. Next, under the car you will see the park brake cables. There is a large one that (aprox center of car) that as an adjuster on it. You will need to tighten the adjuster to snug up the cable. I recommend spraying it with penetrating oil prior to trying to adjust it. They rust and often times break when you try to turn them.

Let me know about the lights.
