1996 Plymouth Voyager alternator not charging

1996 Plymouth Voyager 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my batter light comes on and the van shuts down the wipers sometimes don't shut off the lights on the dashboard flicker the dome lights don't work what could be the problem and how do I fix it.

I'd make sure the battery has a full charge, the battery cables/ wires all clean and tight on both ends.

I realize your talking about the charging system, but, check for trouble codes. You cycle the key, on--off, on--off, on, you just turn the key till the dash lites come on, no further. Then the check engine lite goes to flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. I believe this vehicle does have two digit codes for the charging system. Or if the codes point in a different direction, you can go that way.

If you have a digital volt meter, we can check your charging system?
