Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Plymouth Voyager 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

For a couple of weeks our van would make a "click-click" sound a couple of times before starting. My husband and I thought it was the starter. So we went out and bought a new starter and replaced it. When he went to turn it on, nothing. Not even a click. He noticed the lights were low and figured it may be the battery. He went and had it charged and bought new terminals for it, replaced them. Still, nothing. Now the vans lights (like the hazard lights) just blink on and off, but the hazard button isnt pushed. We need some major help with our van.

Wow, this is a good one. My first guess is that it is a ground problem. Make sure the ground going to the engine block is clean and tight. Also, make sure there are no broken or disconnected body ground straps hanging. Finally, I need you to check one more thing. Have a helper turn the key to the start positiong while you check for power to the smaller wire on the starter. It should have 12+ volts. If it does, either you have another bad starter or the ground to the engine is bad.

Let me know what you find.
