We recently bought a van from a private owner who took really good care of the car. it runs and drives great. stick shift takes a little getting used to but that is getting better.
my problem is that when you open the drivers door, the dome light does not come on. and there is no warning signal for when the headlights are left on or when the key is inserted. i have checked fuses, and am wondering what the problem could be.
also the rear wiper does not function. when i plug the connector in at the rear of the vehicle i can hear the motor run, and the fluid sprays but the the arm does not move.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

The rear wiper linkage has jammed, a common problem on these. Someone should be able to fix it without too much trouble, but a replacement wiper motor may be expensive or hard to find. I've gotten them from the junkyard. As for the dome light, I guess you've checked the bulb. Then I'd see if the door switch wires are loose. Sorry I don't know enough about the electronics for the headlight/ignition key warning bell, which could be related to the dome light. There's a timer involved.
