1997 Plymouth Breeze Cools off through coolant tank

The car runs OK but when you shut it off it blows a strong stream of air that bubbles up through the coolant tank un til it cools down. Guessing it is probably the head gasket but wondered if there were any other possibilities. Thanks.

Does it overheat? Before ruling the head gasket (although way too many Stratus and Breeze cars have the problem), replace your radiator cap or make sure the one you have is holding 16 psi.
