My wife went out to start the car today, turned the key and it didn't start. She was trying to get the baby in the car so didn't think maybe she got the key turned far enough. Got the baby in the car and tried again, but it didn't start. Went to take the key out and now it won't go back far enough in the ignition to take it out. Also won't go far enough to start. It will go far enough to turn on the accessories, and far enough back to not have them on, but not far enough to start or take the key out.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Either the tumbler or the ignition switch is bad. You will need to remove the steering wheel and part of the steering column to check which is causing the problem. The tumbler attaches to a steel rod that moves the switch on the column. Remove the steel rod to see of the key will turn. If it still doesn't, the tumbler has gone bad.
