I have a 1994 plymouth acclaim and when I go uphill or up a grade the car starts to surge. I am going to replace fuel filter. What else does this sound like it could be?

Help?

Hi:
If the fuel filter doesn't help, check the fuel pump pressure. If you need help, let me know.

Wow im amazed to see this post my acclaim is doing the same thing to me tho it almost feels like its not getting enough gas and or the trans is slipping I have to let off the pedal and then it comes back but seems sluggish for a min or two so im also curious if this could be the fuel pump seeinghow I have replaced just about everything else filter included let me know if you learned anything new about this issue

Hi:
I haven't received a response from the original poster yet. Keep checking back, but my guess is the fuel pump.
