My 1991 plymouth Acclaim 2.5 non turbo with 195000 miles was running rough while idling. Shortly afterwards the camshaft broke. After replacing the camshaft it still is idling rough, worse in reverse. Can anyone give me an idea about what could still be wrong. It was repaired correctly and there are no problem codes on the computer. Thanks

Could be the timing is off, or you need to fix up your eqipment in the head.

6-23-07 make sure you run a compression check on all cylinders, when your camshaft failed, valves could have run into the pistons. Did you you take the head off when you did the camshaft? It should have been easy to spot if you looked when the head was off. 6-34-07 after research I have found out its not an interference engine, which means its very unlikely valves ran into pistons.
