What is this part

The PCM of my vehicle listed above is under the hood (between battery and the fuse box), but I also saw another box as well that looks like a mini PCM located inside my car sitting on the floor behind the steering column, please see picture. What is this box exactly (purpose)? Thanks!

Hello, I'm Danny.

That is the SRS (supplemental restraint system) unit. That is what controls the seat belts and airbags. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
