hi after driving in my car at about 70 then I turn off engine it sounds like a jet engine for about 5 secs then stops I ould like to kno hats making it do this also it has just started kicking out some white smoke when I start it up and am stationary at lights etc can u help please

Could the sound be coming from a cooling fan which is still running after you shut the car?

Also, the white smoke concerns me. If this happens after the engine has been run for some time, it could indicate that you are getting coolant into the engine's combustion chamber. This is usually the result of a bad head gasket or intake gasket.

Finally, has the engine ever overheated? Have you had to add coolant? Is the car's performance the same as it always has been or has it changed?
