Air Conditioning problem

Hi all,

I think my A/C is not working as efficiently as it should be. I have a feeling that is works 60-70% efficient.

I recently serviced it by peugeot but Im not convinced that they did a good job. I took my car to service for not cooling good enough and for smelling time to time. After de-odourising smell has gone but cooling performance is still not very good. And according to them they lubricated the system and refilled the gas etc.

When temperature is around 30 oC (Celcius) it cannot cool down inside of the car, althogh it blows cold(ish) air, on 3rd or 4th (highest) fan speed.

I checked the temperature of blown air when air con is on by inserting a probe to fan. The temperature inside the fan is around 4 oC (Celcius). Of course, just outside of the fan this temperature increases dramatically. And when you are in the car you dont feel much of chillded air. There is no "wow" effect.

My questions is what is the ideal temperature of blown air at the fan and what is the lowest cabin temperature should be when A/C is on (say it is 30 oC outside)?

Do you think there is something missing there or is it just Peugeot 207 has got crap A/C?

Many thanks

Hi
Your vent outlet temp is excellent. Any colder you would have a freezer. General rule on vehicle Ac is a temp difference of @ 10 - 12 C. SO IF 30C ambient then cabin around 20 t0 18c. Try running Ac in recirculation mode if humidity high less cabin cooling will be achieved.
Hope this helps
