Park neutral safety switch?

When I attempt to remove the key after turning the vehicle off, the key won't turn all three clicks so I can remove key. The key will turn enough to turn the engine off but not enough clicks to remove key. The Internet says it's a park neutral safety switch.

I think the gear range sensor might cause the problem, here is the location so you can change it out. To me it sounds like the ignition lock could be bad or the shifter cable is stretched or out of adjustment. Can you tell if the truck is going into park fully? If not, this will be the problem, here are the instructions as requested and I added what else might be the problem as well, please get back to me on what works for you, I am interested :) Check out the images (below).
