I have a false reading on my screen on my truck saying service parking brake, limited function. Any time I drive the vehicle it tells me to release parking brake even though it is not engaged the motor or actuator for the parking brake is shot on the rear passenger side. I am waiting for the part to come in. I am just looking for a way to stop it from constantly dinging at me and telling me this.

Hi,

The actuator is powered through the ABS module. The only thing I can think of is to remove power to the module. However, that will prevent the ABS from working and likely turn on a traction control light. So, it's up to you if you want to try. I attached the wiring schematic below showing two 50-amp fuses, both in the under-hood battery junction box.

Let me know your thoughts. Also, I'm really surprised this failed on such a low-mileage and relatively new vehicle. The more complex they make them, the more likely of failure.

Let me know.

Joe
