Had a P1899 and replaced the switch along with repairing wiring at the switch. P1899 stays off for a day but returns the next day after start up. Do you have any suggestions? The NSS is a typical screw in style and works correctly.

P1899 - Park/neutral position switch stuck in park or in gear.

Please elaborate on "works correctly"? I do not know what or how you tested it, or what the results were. Why did the wiring need to be repaired?

Also, there are two different transmissions and they use different neutral safety systems. Do you have the older three-terminal neutral safety switch, or the newer "transmission range sensor"? The sensor has a wire harness with an eight-terminal connector.

Check along the wiring harness where it goes up along the trans and firewall, it is common for them to rub through the insulation and send a false signal.
