Codes P0700 and P0717

My truck is throwing codes po700 po717 and it shifts first to second hard but then third to fourth it has a slipping shift and also makes a funny sound coming from the dash or under the hood. Then fourth to fifth it would slip 3 or 4 times before catching. Where do I start? Cause I also heard that the alternator could be the problem.

Hello,

The code P0717 gets triggered for the turbine speed sensor and the P0700 is a general transmission diagnostics code for when there is an error code present.

The turbine speed code could be due to a faulty sensor or possibly wiring issue.
