Code P0303 misfire and smoking engine

My car has a check engine light on and a p0303 misfire code coming up. I replaced both the spark plug and the ignition coil pack for cylinder three. The engine is smoking and there is smoke coming out of the exhaust. Before I spend thousands of dollars on replacing the engine I need help.
