My 1984 Lincoln Towncar has been overheating. I replaced the lower radiator hose, fan is working, no pressure or heat in the upper hose so I am replacing the thermostat. I removed one bolt on the thermostat housing and have tried to remove the second but have had trouble getting enough room for the rench and my hand. (A girl with no experience) Do I need to remove something else to have space or am I possibly removeing the wrong bolts?

Hello,

I can help you. O ya, that is a rough one, so you can use a wrench and work it from the side, or get a 1/4 inch drive universal socket on it. So the tough part is getting the new thermostat in with out is dropping down. I would just leave it out if the car is on it last legs. Please send me an image so I can be sure of the situation. Ken
