Yesterday I had no heat in the car in the morning. Continue to drive it. Later it overheated and lost power. The reservoir was still filled with fluid. I was able to get home by letting it cool down and driving slow, it would overheat and I would pull off the road, shut it down, and let it cool down again, and kept repeating this.

Make sure the cooling system is full not just reservoir if it overheats it will lose power. Pressure check cooling system for a head gasket leak. Also, check for a stuck closed thermostat. It can be a few things but you need to start first for leaks.
