Overheating

Did you check the thermostat? that is responsible along with the water pump for circulation?

Got it.

The next step is to do a leak down test on the cylinders to check and see if there is a leaking head gasket.

That is where you insert shop air into each cylinder one at a time and watch for movement of the coolant in the radiator.
