My van overheated and the mechanic replaced the radiator. The van still overheated and they have advised me that the computer is not telling the fan to turn on. Is this correct? What is the thermostat for would you replace the computer to fix this?

There is a sensor for the fans, but I will need more information, a VIN number and engine code would help.

Thank you, I have not read anywhere that this could even possibly be the reason for the fault, ie the computer. I am a shoe repairer leather smith, I know that repairs are always different but it feels like replacing the sole when all it needs is some stitching!
